A favorite pastime for all vacationers, miniature golf brings out the child in us with competitive spirits, imaginative courses, and quality time spent with friends and family. While unheard of to many Walt Disney World visitors, miniature golf can be found at two different locations on property, Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland. Bringing out all the magical Disney details that the company is known for, these two miniature golf courses are the perfect way to spend some quality time with family without paying the price of a park ticket and being able to still enjoy the Disney atmosphere. Winter Summerland Miniature Golf takes you on an adventure with Santa and his elves on an off-season vacation and offers two 18-hole experiences for you to enjoy. While Winter Summerland is a great option for a unique miniature golf course, Fantasia Gardens has all the Disney theming, details, and inspiration every Disney fan’s heart could ever desire. What better way to spend a vacation then playing mini golf at Disney World?
Centered around the classic animated film Fantasia and created in 1996, this miniature golf location includes two 18-hole experiences for you to play, Fantasia Fairways Miniature Course and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course. The Fantasia Fairways Miniature Course is a miniature version of a traditional golf course, and the holes can range from 63 to 109 feet long. The Fairways course is best for more experienced golfers looking to practice their putting game, and it includes water hazards, sand traps, and bunkers. The Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course is for beginners and families looking for a fun experience. Background views of the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotel and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
You can now reserve a tee time before your visit by calling (407)-939-7529. Fantasia Gardens is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, but the Fairways course does close one hour early at 9 PM. The cost is $14 for adults (age 10 and up) and $12 for children (age 3-9). Fantasia Gardens is located right across from the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. There is a small parking area right next to the mini golf course that is free to park at. It is also an easy walk to get to from the Boardwalk area, just cross the bridge from the Boardwalk to the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin. You can also access Fantasia Gardens through taking a Disney bus or boat to the Walt Disney World Swan resort and crossing the street to the mini golf course.
Fantasia Gardens takes you through five different musical sequences from the movie Fantasia: Tocatta and Fugue, The Nutcracker Suite, The Pastoral Symphony, Dance of the Hours, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Look out for dancing elephants, armies of brooms (that may get you just a little wet), the infamous baccus, and lively mushrooms during your mini golf adventure. With musical theming and fun sound effects, this course is the perfect family-friendly adventure that does not involve buying a park ticket for the day!
Pro tip: Make sure to head over to the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel once you are done for a refreshing snack. Inside the main lobby area you will find “Fuel”, a grab-and-go market that also features a DIY frozen yogurt station. At this yogurt station you can find the famous dole whip frozen yogurt, and add as many toppings as your heart desires to create a fun treat after putting out in the Florida heat.
