Autumn Bucket List 2021 | Do as Dreamers Do

Autumn Bucket List

As we fully enter into October, I wanted to share with you all my autumn bucket list! I find myself wanting to be more intentional with how I spend my days and time, and I believe bucket lists are a great way to do that. People often use the phrase “romanticizing their life” to describe making simple, ordinary moments of their life into beautiful experiences. I want this bucket list to help me romanticize this autumn season and to live it to the fullest!

bake pumpkin chocolate chip bread/muffins

It would not be a real fall without some baking and all things pumpkin. I love pumpkin because while some people really do not enjoy it, almost everyone loves it when it is in a baked good. My favorite thing to make this time of year is pumpkin chocolate chip muffins! I usually take the Trader Joe’s pumpkin bread mix and add chocolate chips to it, and it is perfection!

read an autumn inspired book

I am not into really spooky reads or thrillers so this autumn bucket list item is a little harder for me. But I have been wanting to read Little Women for months, and as many describe it as an autumn book, I believe it is a perfect time of year to read it!

take a nature hike

I went hiking last week for the first time in probably a year. It was honestly all kinds of lovely and magical. The leaves are starting to change here in Georgia (at least our version of changing), and it makes for incredible and stunning views! Fall is the perfect time of year for those fall foliage views, and at least the temperatures are slightly dropping. If you are in the Atlanta area, we hiked Kennesaw Mountain and the East Palisades Trail, and I could not recommend them enough!

bake pillsbury halloween cookies

Truly nothing can compare to your first pillsbury halloween cookie of the year! All kinds of fluffy, yummy, magical goodness!

Such a fun tradition that most people were not able to participate in last year! Our small group at our church has already set out a date for our friendsgiving this year, and I am just so excited for all the amazing food and fellowship time!

watch It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

This movie is such a classic and brings every nostalgic, fall feeling possible. Different from your traditional spooky fall movies, this one always leaves me feeling so warm and cozy after watching!

drink a fall inspired coffee drink

Since we run a coffee cart, this autumn bucket list item is just a given. I have currently been loving making homemade pumpkin cream cold foam and using honey chai as a syrup to add some fall vibes to my morning/afternoon coffee.

donate old books to a local little library

I watched a youtuber do an entire video of her donating to all of the little libraries around her city, and I fell in love with the idea! Instead of donating to Goodwill, pile all of your books that you no longer want to keep and pass them out through little libraries around your city! It allows you to explore your city, and you may find some new books to pick up along the way!

have a picnic at your local park

I have been dying to do this for months, and I think this is the perfect time of year to carry out this task. As temperatures drop and the humidity lessens, there is nothing more beautiful than enjoying a picnic at a park! We have a local park that is just about 5 minutes away, and I plan in the next couple weeks to pack an amazing breakfast spread and head out to this park to start Little Women for a magical and romantic experience!

visit a farmer’s market

We are at a farmer’s market literally every weekend so we are a little biased here, but it is such a great time of year to go visit a farmer’s market! Buy some local produce, baked goods, and support some small businesses in your area!

watch gilmore girls

Gilmore Girls is my comfort show, and I make it an annual tradition to at least watch the entire series through during autumn. With some light humor, all the coffee references, and just feel-good vibes, Gilmore Girls never disappoints.

visit your local library

Cannot stress enough that if you do not have a library card you should go sign up for one immediately! Our tax dollars help fund our local libraries, and they are such a good resource and just treasure to enjoy. As we are in a big budgeting and saving season right now, my library has been by saving grace when it comes to finding new books to read! I also have enjoyed visiting the library to get some work done because it is always such a quiet and calm atmosphere!

watch harry potter

Since the start of the pandemic, I have been on a major Harry Potter kick and have easily watched the movies too many times to count in the last year and a half! Another feel-good thing to watch, Harry Potter always leaves me feeling cozy, inspired, and just so immensely happy.

put together a puzzle

I honestly have an obsession with puzzles and think they are just the calmest activity to do. As fall is a time to really slow down, I think working on a puzzle is a perfect way to ease anxiety and calm your mind!

random act of kindness

We have really been working towards practicing generosity more in this season. We feel incredibly blessed with what we have been given, and we feel like it is a privilege to be able to give back to others. Some examples of this could be buying a gift card at the grocery store and asking the cashier to use it towards as many grocery orders as possible, paying it forward in the Starbucks line or at your local coffee shop, make a care package for a homeless person, or invite some friends out to dinner and completely pay for their meal!
