Most of the stores at the Shops at Wailea are luxury, high-end brands, but there are some small boutiques and souvenir stores as well. Some of our favorite stores here included Cariloha (everything made out of bamboo so they have super soft clothing and products), Mele Ukulele (they offer free lessons throughout the week), and SoHa living (Hawaiian boutique featuring home items and gifts). Island Gourmet Markets is the perfect place to pick up a quick dinner or do some grocery shopping for the week! This shopping area offers special events each week so make sure to check out their website to stay updated on when things are happening. The Shops at Wailea is the perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon and to shop for souvenirs or gifts.
Shopping at the Grand Wailea
There are not many shops in the Wailea are besides the Shops at Wailea, but the Grand Wailea does boast several unique stores to guests. The Grand Wailea is also just too beautiful to not visit at least once, even if you are not staying on property!

Whether hanging out at the resort beach areas on Wailea Beach or heading to Makena Beach (one of the largest beaches in Maui), you can always find a beautiful beach in the Wailea area. Wailea Beach can get very crowded and most of the beach is reserved for resort guests, but for a calmer beach area head over to Makena Beach.
Kayaking, canoeing, sailing, or snorkeling– there is no end to the water activities in the Wailea area. You can even go on a guided sea scooter snorkeling adventure! Some of the water activities offered in the area include stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, and ocean rafting. Wailea is often home to many sea turtles and ocean life so it is popular among guests and locals alike. For an authentic Hawaiian experience try a Hawaiian outrigger canoe trip with one of the resorts (often free with resort stay) to learn some of the traditional Hawaiian chants, Wailea history, and to see wildlife up close and personal such as sea turtles and manta rays. There are plenty of sunset sailing cruises offered in the area. Through Kai Kanani, you can book a sunset sail on a catamaran which features live ukulele music, food, and drinks. Mulligan’s on the Blue is Maui’s only Irish pub, only Irish owned, and only Irish run restaurant and bar. Mulligans has 2 different happy hours, 14 TVs playing sports games, and incredible live music every night. You cannot drive by Mulligans without wanting to inside and join in on the fun!
Lappert’s Hawaii is both an ice cream shop and a coffee shop in one. All of their food items are made fresh daily in Hawaii. Lappert’s believes in the “spirit of aloha” and incorporating ohana into everything they do. Make sure to get some delicious ice cream here on one of your trips!
Monkeypod is made for hanging out with friends and relaxing over drinks and apps at happy hour. Monkeypod believes in partnering with farmers, artisans, and brewers to deliver the best possible dining experience. This restaurant gets so much love and compliments from the locals that you have to try it out at some point. Make sure to go for happy hour (for the Maui location, this is from 3-5:30 PM & 9-11 PM) where you can get discounts on almost everything on the menu! This restaurant has such a great atmosphere and truly embodies the aloha spirit.
Restaurant at Hotel Wailea
This award-winning restaurant is known as one of the best restaurants in Hawaii and in the United States. Sourcing from local Maui farms, Hotel Wailes prides itself in sustainable, fresh, and organic dining options. It is Hawaii’s first and only Relais & Chateaux restaurant. With a great dining experience, spectacular views, and incredible food, you cannot miss visiting this restaurant. This is the perfect place for a fancy meal or date night with your spouse!
Nick’s Fishmarket is located in the Fairmont Kea Lani Maui. All of the food is inspired by local flavors and fresh seafood. Seated on a patio right near the pool, you will have a perfect sunset view and be in the middle of all the action at the resort. Plan a reservation just before sunset and you will be able to experience the Fairmont Kea Lani Maui nightly torch lighting ceremony. During this ceremony a torch lighter will light all torches by the Lower Pool and kids are welcome to join in on the run. At the end the torch lighter will blow a conch shell, and you will have a perfect view! Make sure to let the staff know if you are celebrating any special event, and you may be given a surprise dessert at the end of your meal! All of their desserts are incredible, and this restaurant is a must for your Wailea vacation!
Gannon’s is known for many things, including having one of the best views of any restaurant on the island. The food is contemporary cuisine inspired by local Hawaiian ingredients. They have an outdoor patio that boasts panoramic views of the beautiful Maui sunsets. The mac and cheese here is probably one of the best on island, and depending on the time you come, you may even enjoy live ukulele music while you dine. This restaurant is not as touristy as a lot of restaurants in the area, and here you will be able to experience a relaxing evening with all of the aloha spirit.
